The Lift Cam turns on the main drive shaft of the tablet press and lifts the tablet out of the ring die using the Lift Pole. This part can wear out quickly and can easily be damaged during routine adjustment of the machine. 

Keep the part well greased so the Lift Pole Wheel can ride in the channel and make sure that the set screw(s) are tight so that the part does not slip to the right during operation. This can cause the inconsistencies in tablet size and weight.  I check this part often, at the end of every operation to make sure it is secure. 

Also, this part has a lock that fits over a key on the main drive shaft.  These machines seems to work much better with these locking parts so you may consider purchasing another Driver Shaft if yours is an older model.
